nothing out of the ordinary

I like Robert Walsers writing a lot.
Here is a good example, an excerpt from a short text from 1914 that feels close to my artwork, my imagery and my thoughts in general:

from: A Little Ramble
by Robert Walser.

I walked through the mountains today.
The weather was damp, and the entire region was gray.
We don’t need to see anything out of the ordinary.
We already see so much.

studio update

small figures, acrylic on board, some based on pictures of strangers I took over the years, some are old family photos.
It is interesting to me how people carry themselves, posture reveals much about a person.

Small Ochre Landscape #1, framed, 8x6

new work... China Basin series IV

currently in the framing shop and soon available at Hang Gallery...

compare to this previous stage of the series, roughly a month ago:

this is Lyle, my friend Brian's Weimeraner. He has been hanging out at the studio with me a lot lately and become a regular on the red sofa.

Going to Hollywood

Some of my paintings were recently on set for Warner Brothers, filming a new Clint Eastwood Production in San Francisco.
The movie will come out end of this year, it is called "Here After", starring Matt Damon.
Keep your eyes open for these... and keep your fingers crossed for them being visible in the final cut!
