Line Etching Workshop with Sarah M. Newton

So I always wanted to try out Etching and I think this might be the perfect opportunity - plus, I will finally make my own Christmas Cards which has been on my to-do list for about 15 years.

My amazing studio mate Sarah is teaching this class in December and everyone is cordially invited to sign up - the fee includes all materials:

Intro to Line Etching Class at Graphic Arts Workshop
Three session class introducing the process of line etching using hard ground Zinc plates.
This class is geared towards those with no printmaking experience who would like to understand the basics of etching. We will cover the following:
  • applying ground
  • drawing an image on the plate
  • etching the plate
  • printing - with some basic techniques for adding a colored background to your image.
December 2nd, 9th and 16th, Monday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 PM

All materials included (plates, ground, solvents, inks, acids, tarleton and paper).

Graphic Arts Printmaking Co-op, 2565 3rd Street at 22nd (dogpatch)

$ 120 for three 3-hour classes

For more information please click here - see post from October 31.

If things don't quite work out, I guess I could still order these lovely cards by Richard Evett Bishop here.
