Notes to myself on beginning a painting

attempt what is not certain. Certainty may or may not come later. It may then be a valuable delusion.
The pretty, initial position which falls short of completeness is not to be valued - except as a stimulus for further moves.
Do search. But in order to find other than what is searched for.
Use and respond to the initial fresh qualities but consider them absolutely expendable.
Dont 'discover' a subject - of any kind.
Somehow don't be bored - but if you must, use it in action. Use its destructive potential.
Mistakes can't be erased but they move you from your present position.
Keep thinking about Polyanna.
Tolerate chaos.
Be careful only in a perverse way.

This was a wonderful opportunity to talk about my work and show my recent paintings in a beautiful environment.

Doniece and Sadik are the most graceful hosts and their home is certainly a perfect place to view art about San Francisco- in San Francisco.

It was amazing how many people came, I did not expect this at all.

Join me on Sunday afternoon from 2PM - 5PM for a Start Here SF Non Salon at 1801 Golden Gate Ave @ Broderick, SF.

Featuring my new City Sky series.

Four times per year, Start Here SF founder Doniece Sandoval is transferring her beautiful home into an Art Gallery extraordinaire. For a few hours this Sunday she will be opening her doors for those who are interested or curious about art, inviting them to view my latest work.

There will be a short Q&A session at 3PM.
