Small Figures featured on the HANG website

Eleonore Maria Agathe #1
oil on canvas
21x17

Take a look... featured show on the HANG Art website this week:

Titled "Small Figures" these new paintings by Katja Leibenath are informed by old family photographs. Removed from their original context, and translated into paintings the pieces carry only remnants of their original emotion. Forcing the viewer to consider if the nostalgia associated with them is inherent in the paintings, or the viewer.

Update from New York

The AAF Contemporary Art Fair in NYC was quite impressive, it was also successful. Plus I got the chance to getting to know Bklyn a little bit and then enjoyed wandering through the Park, the Met or taking pictures of water towers downtown... I also had a great time staying at my friend's house- she is a writer/ painter and I loved being surrounded by her great collection of books and art.

NYC

I am endlessly fascinated with the silhouettes of New York water towers. Or any other city water towers. This will probably become the newest addition to my Scherenschnitte series.
