111 Minna Gallery - holiday show this Saturday, 11/30, 7PM - 1AM

I think I have a piece in this show, and so do a LOT of great Bay Area artists.
Get your tickets now.
I will see you there.

The Grand Hand Gallery, Napa

I am currently showing some pieces from the Portola series at The Grand Hand gallery in Napa.

If you have not been to Napa downtown for a while, you could go up there while the colors are so pretty. Actually, I always like the colors up there so it does not really matter when you go.

The Grand Hand has a great selection of art and crafts, it is located close to the Napa Opera House, next to the Napa river and right in between two great restaurants - I mean the kind where you can get superb food and also a table on a Saturday night if you are a bit patient. We had dinner at Torc which just opened in the former Ubuntu space- everyone loved it.

Plus, today I got an email from Indian Springs in Calistoga, their winter special is ON.

Now what reason could you possibly have to not go to the wine country very soon?

a sorry couple with disproportionate and inflexible limbs falls past a wooden cat and cannot be saved by the outstretched hands of some helpful monsters nearby

a short animated clip conceptualized, designed, produced and shot in 14 minutes. which was not nearly enough time. love it anyway because its so strange.

me, trying to make a movie clip in 14 minutes

Time inside museums goes by much faster than in the outside world, so when I started this I had exactly 14 minutes to closing. Argh.

autumn travels: Lotte Reiniger Archive, Tübingen, Germany

Lotte Reiniger was an amazing woman and her work inspires me, has inspired me always. If you ever have the chance to visit Tübingen, do it. Forget Heidelberg - Tübingen also is way ancient, has lots of impressively old stuff, they call it the Town Of The Books, 10%student population > historic University, beautifully located near Stuttgart by the river Neckar, great pastry at the royal bakery, less the Heidelberg bus crowds.

If then you have some time to see the Stadtmuseum for its Lotte Reiniger Collection and some other cool city related artefacts (artifacts), I highly recommend it- even if you are not Silhouette obsessed like some of us.
