Portola Villas

The Portola paintings started last year in July. This month, I added more colors to the palette and got a better sense of where the series should be going. 

Each piece can only be worked on for a short period of time per day- I often mix paint wet-in-wet directly on the canvas and need to allow curing time of several days for every layer before re-working an area.

The images below show the pieces set up to dry this afternoon. They are far from completed but it is clear what the next steps will have to be.

Art For Aids 2013 - fundraiser website now live

The not-to-be-missed Art For Aids live auction at City View (Metreon top floor, huge viewing terrace, amazing buffet with local chefs serving delicious small bites, beautiful cocktails, amazing crowd...) won't be until the end of October, but you can already browse their selection of works for this year online.

Note: The Mission Studios moved their October Open Studios Opening Reception to Thursday, Oct. 24 because of this event so the artists can be in attendance.
